13 Ways To Get Cleaning And Organizing Supplies On A Budget (Most Are A Dollar!)

Spring cleaning is just around the corner and you are probably looking for cleaning and organizing supplies, but are you looking in the right place? A lot of money is spent on supplies for cleaning and organizing when it doesn’t have to be.

Lucky for you, there are ways to clean and organize on a dollar!

If you are anything like me, you hate wasting money. Why waste money on something you can buy for less?

Especially with cleaning and organizing supplies, you can get the same quality product for a fraction of the cost.

I have created a list of my favorite cleaning and organizing products on a budget. These products have been tried and tested and continually make my list for favorite products.

SPOILER ALERT- most of the products on my list are only $1! So get your pen and paper ready because you don’t want to miss these great deals!

Organizing

Label Stickers

One of the key parts of organizing is labeling (like these labels). The Dollar Tree has a variety of labels perfect for any project. I would recommend buying in bulk if you find a size or style of label you really like.

I have found that there is a high turnover in products at the Dollar Tree and you never know if or when your item will return- so buy as many as you can find once you find the right one!

Jumbo Storage Bags

I don’t think I can ever have enough of these jumbo storage bags on hand.

These storage bags are perfect for organizing a suitcase, closet, and are essential for trips to the pool or beach! You can see everything inside without having to worry about water damage from fabric bags.

I have only seen sizes L, XL and XXL available in stores; however, I prefer the bigger sized bags so the lack of available sizes has never bothered me.

Vacuum Storage Bags

Vacuum storage bags are invaluable when it comes to saving space. All you need is a vacuum storage bag and a vacuum with a hose attachment.

While these space savers are most often advertised for bedding and pillows, I have found them most useful in storing baby clothes. I am able to fit 3-4 vacuum packed bags into a single storage bin rather than using 3-4 storage bins for the same amount of clothing.

Not only do I save on the vacuum storage bags (only $1), but I am saving on the need to purchase more storage bins! Win-win!

Laundry Bag

I don’t know about you, but I am not going to spend $5 on something that only holds dirty items. So instead, I choose to spend $1 on a laundry bag available at Dollar Tree…and the other $4 on chocolate!

Plastic Organizers

Cosmetics Organizer

Once upon a time I had a huge obsession with lip products. In the end, however, I was left with a huge selection of products and nowhere to store them.

The products got lost in boxes and trays, and products often went unused. I found these cosmetic organizers at Dollar Tree and was able to organize them by shade and access them without digging!

Stackable Bins

The dreaded task of organizing space under the sink now has a solution! These stackable bins work great for your medicine cabinet and those narrow spaces where other organizers just don’t fit.

Drawer Organizers

The use for these drawer organizers are clearly identified in the name, but I use drawer organizers for more than what they are intended.

I have recently found they work great in organizing spices. Since I have very narrow shelves next to my oven, these drawer organizers from Dollar Tree were literally the perfect fit.

Plastic Or Glass Jars

I always hated the look of my baking cupboard- a cacophony of chaos on my lazy susan.

I wanted to organize the mess, but didn’t know how with all of the mismatched boxes and bags. I knew what my solution was when I found these plastic jars at Dollar Tree. Now my baking goods are universally stored and labeled making baking a breeze!

Fabric Bins

When I was preparing my daughter’s nursery, I wanted a nice and clean way to store extra diapers and wipes under the changing table, and extra shoes and burp cloths in the closet.

Since I was looking to purchase 8-10 fabric bins, I didn’t want to spend $30+ on storage alone.

I was thrilled when I found my solution at Dollar Tree for these fabric bins. Sure the structure might not be as durable as a $5 or $10 fabric bin, but they provide the look and functionality I wanted in my nursery for a fraction of the cost.

Wire Baskets

Before organizing my pantry, I had all of my canned foods on the shelves at once. But when I found these wire baskets, I knew how I could improve things drastically.

I was able to store 4-5 canned goods in each wire basket, and put the rest of my supply in bins. Now my pantry looks organized and everything is easily accessible.

Locker Bins

I use the wire baskets to store a few of my canned items on the shelves while putting the rest of the canned goods in locker bins below.

When the canned food gets low in the baskets, I add more from my locker bin storage system below. I even labeled these bins with labels from the Dollar Tree! Now that’s some serious savings!

Cleaning

ShamWow! Dupe

We all remember the ShamWow! guy from the commercials- was he enthusiastic or what?!

I was always skeptical of just how much liquid a towel could absorb; however, I wasn’t willing to pay $15 to find out.

I found this like-product at Dollar Tree and confess I was truly ‘wowed’ by the result! I always have one in my kitchen to use for spilled water. I have reduced the amount of paper towels used in the kitchen simply by having this towel present. Definitely worth the investment!

Scrub Brush

When it comes to scrub brushes, I want something that gets the job done. This scrub brush at Dollar Tree does the trick!

The handle is very convenient for any cleaning task, and at only a dollar I can afford to buy as many as I want!

Worth the Splurge

All of the products I have mentioned have stayed true to the $1 price tag promise; but my list of favorite cleaning and organizing products would not be complete without the two best cleaning products I have ever come across.

They may not be $1, but they are worth every penny!

Lysol, Brand New Day

I actually discovered this product as I was brainstorming for this blog post! With cleaning on the mind I realized my own bathroom was in desperate need of attention.

I grabbed a bottle of Lysol toilet cleaner from the closet and was shocked when I opened the bottle. It was like a fresh bouquet of roses on a beautiful spring day.

I took another look at the bottle because I KNEW that wasn’t the original Lysol smell (you know the one I am referring to).

Sure enough, the bottle in my hand was Lysol, but in the scent Brand New Day. With a quick search on the Internet I found they sell this same scent in the forms of aerosol, spray, automatic toilet cleaner, and disinfectant wipes.

Let’s just say after smelling this scent and seeing the results I will never go back to the original scent again!

Clean Shower, Daily Shower Cleaner

If you are looking for a low-maintenance cleaning product then this product is for you. Clean Shower is a preventative product that prevents residue buildup of water, soap and residue stains. You don’t even need to scrub or rinse it off- just spray after shower use and the cleaner does the rest! Now that is my kind of product! Found at Walmart, Target and other retailers.

As you can see, there are many ways to save on cleaning and organizing products without sacrificing quality! So instead of wasting your money on expensive products, save your money by cleaning and organizing on a budget!
